Invitation to business persons for the first theme week "Dubai Expo 2020" - Climate & Biodiversity

In connection with the presentation of our economy at the World Exhibition "Dubai Expo 2020", the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (PKS) invites business persons and entrepreneurs to register, by August 23 to participate in the business delegation for the first theme week "Climate & Biodiversity", which will be held from 3 to 9 October 2021.

"We have companies that, we are sure, will use the opportunity to be part of the Serbian delegation within the first theme week and make a significant contribution to the circular economy and sustainable development of our planet. This topic is especially important for us, because Serbia has given one of the biggest names in world science who has made a great contribution to the global study of climate change, the famous Milutin Milanković, the founder of planetary climatology, whose ideas still arouse great interest among scientists around the world,“ pointed out Marko Selaković, head of the PKS office in Dubai and B2B director of "Dubai Expo 2020", inviting business persons to apply for this theme week.

Throughout their long history, all world exhibitions have addressed the key challenges of humanity, providing answers and innovative solutions that have improved life on the planet. The issue of climate change and biodiversity conservation is one of the most challenging and this year it opens theme weeks at the world's most important event, which begins on October 1, 2021 and lasts until March 31, 2022.

During the "Dubai EXPO 2020", 10 theme weeks will be held, starting with Climate & Biodiversity, followed by Space (October 17-23), Urban & Rural Development (October 31-November 6), Tolerance & Inclusivity (November 14-20), Knowledge & Learning (December 12-18), Travel & Connectivity (January 9-15), Global Goals (January 16-22), Health & Wellness (January 27-February 2), Food, Agriculture & Livelihoods (February 17-23) and Water (March 20-26).

For each of the theme weeks, a significant presence of domestic experts and representatives of our economy is expected, for whom the participation in "Dubai EXPO 2020" is a way to enter the world market and gain an important role in solving the global challenges of humanity.

It is expected that the economy will make the best use of this opportunity and successfully expand its activities, from Dubai as a global center, to the markets of the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Africa, connect with key players in the world business community and present Serbia as a stable investment destination.

The World Exhibition in Dubai is held under the slogan: "Connecting Minds and Creating the Future", and the central events related to the representation of our country will be organized in the national pavilion of Serbia, spreading over an area of 2,000 square meters, located in the "Mobility" thematic district.

The main topic of the appearance of the Republic of Serbia at the World Exhibition is "Serbia Creates Ideas - Inspired by the past, shaping the future".

During the world exhibition, business persons from Serbia will be able to use the premises of PKS, equipped with all the necessary infrastructure, in the Dubai South Free Zone (https://www.dubaisouth.ae/), the venue of the "Dubai Expo" event.“

The space will be available to company representatives to promote products or services, to hold business talks with potential partners, as well as to start a business in the Emirate of Dubai. At the initiative of the exhibition organizers, special emphasis will be placed on the economic activities of the participating countries, which cover almost all sectors of industry.

The participation of Serbia at the "Dubai Expo 2020" is symbolically presented and inspired by the Vinča civilization. The exhibition setup of the pavilion shows modern Serbia as the natural heir of this culture, more than 7,000 years old. The National Pavilion of Serbia is designed as a one of a kind time capsule, which connects the legacy of the Vinča culture with digitally advanced, modern Serbia, with the aim of presenting innovations, technological and scientific successes, business and investment opportunities. The pavilion will be fully digitized and will provide the possibility of virtual travel through different realities, different time periods and through different spaces.

The deadline for submitting applications for participation in the first theme week "Climate & Biodiversity" is August 23. Interested companies should fill out the questionnaires in English and send them to PKS via e-mail: ivana.putnik@pks.rs
